RV Boondocking

If you’re looking for an adventure that combines the great outdoors with the comforts of home, then RV boondocking is the perfect way to do it. Boondocking, or dry camping, is a form of camping that takes place in remote areas without the use of established campgrounds or RV parks. When you go boondocking, you are essentially roughing it, but with the added comfort and convenience of having your own RV. This is how we travel across the country without having to deal with campgrounds.

Benefits of RV Boondocking

Boondocking of any type allows you to explore some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world. You can travel to the far reaches of the country and stay in places that you would never be able to access otherwise. There is no need to worry about finding a campground or paying for a campsite, so you can save money while still experiencing the wonders of nature.

Another great thing about boondocking is that you can travel anywhere you want. You can find a spot in the middle of the desert or near a mountain lake, and you don’t need to worry about whether or not it is a designated camping area. This freedom allows you to explore more of the world and experience some of the most amazing places that you may have never even heard of.

Be Prepared for RV Boondocking

If you are new to boondocking, it is important to make sure that you are properly prepared. You should make sure that you have enough supplies to last you for the length of your trip, as well as enough fuel and water for your RV.  You should also research the area where you are planning to boondock to make sure that it is safe and that you are following all the local laws.

Boondocking may require some RV modifications if you want to have the comforts of home. Some things might include use of electrical outlets. These amenities aren’t always stock in an RV without some RV upgrades

It isn’t always necessary but they are nice. Things like a little solar or gas generator can help without major modifications to your RV.

We use solar as our means of boondocking. No we can’t run our air-conditioning but we can run everything else. We have a fairly simple system that supports what we need. This is one of those situations that you do you and not worry about anyone else. You know actually camp and turn off the outside world for a minute.
